Calling Europeans!

We want your stories for a podcast project As part of the Summer of Solidarity, a summer-long collaborative journalism project, The Europeans Podcast and Are We Europe are producing three special podcasts celebrating cross-border love and solidarity between Europeans.

We are looking for nine people to share their stories about how something from another European country has shaped their life, be it a book, a recipe, a piece of music or an unexpected meeting with a stranger.

Maybe you’re Spanish, but you once stumbled upon a Croatian book that changed the way you see the world. Maybe you’re from Portugal, but it was a Lithuanian song that brought you comfort when you really needed it. Maybe you’re Irish and accidentally made your home in Poland because of someone you met in a bar.

Each story will be about five minutes long and can be recorded at home on your mobile phone. You don’t need to be a journalist to take part! We encourage submissions from artists, scientists, waiters, children, cyclists.

Storytellers will be paid €100 for their contributions. If you’re interested in taking part, please send a three-sentence summary of your story to hello@europeanspodcast.com before July 17.

Help with writing and recording your story will be provided.
