The administration of orders: an analogy of madness and migration on Leros

By Jakob Thurn

Editor's Note: This piece takes us to the Greek island of Leros. The writer, who formerly worked for an NGO helping refugees, reflects on the notions of asylum and memory. As he photographed the dilapidated walls of an old mental asylum, he thought about why our societies fail to embrace difference and show a lack empathy for migrants.
