Mass arrest of LGBT+ people marks turning point for Poland

Editor’s Note: On 7 August, dozens of people were arrested in Warsaw on the grounds that they had participated in a supposedly violent, illegal gathering. In fact, they were taking part in a peaceful protest in solidarity with an LGBT+ activist. This piece takes a deep look at repressions directed against sexual minorities in Poland.
